OLPH CYO's website has undergone a 'Radical' change
As you have noticed the main page has a new flash photo slideshow. In future, photo's taken from OLPH CYO Events will be categorized and added. The old flash photo slideshow was difficult to update and that is why for almost 2 years you would see the same photos on the slideshow. Now, it is simple and quick to change/add photos to the slideshow.
Parents are encouraged to send their photos if they choose to do so. Parents wll receive an email confirming that their photo has been received and when it is posted on the OLPH CYO website. The photos will be removed as the site is updated with newer photos.
Problems
If you are finding that you are displaying the old OLPH CYO main page, simply hit the 'Refresh Button' on your browser to show the updated page.

POST 1 - Welcome to OLPH CYO's new website
On behalf of the Board Members and Commissioners and all
those people who made this possible, I, James Jaskinia (President
of OLPH CYO) would like to take this opportunity to welcome
you to our NEW website.
Please read the following notices (Post 1) concerning our
new website to find out what the website offers and how to
use it. |

Who is this site designed for?
The website is designed for you... afterall you are browsing
on it now! It is targeted at anyone who is interested in our
activities, events and programs but particularly for the parents
that have children enrolled into a sports program. |

Purpose of the website
The purpose of this website is primarily to provide information
to the community. It will provide many answers to questions
that are posed by parents, such as registration dates, fees,
locations and directions etc. But its much more than that
- its interactive. Users (thats you!) can actually subscribe
to our calendar and by doing so you can receive email notification
from OLPH CYO when, say, your coach schedules a game that
your child will play, for example (see Calendar below for
more information). |

Whats NEW?
Well, at this point its all new! As far as OLPH CYO is concerned,
we're still doing the same things, but the website is going
to make things a lot easier for us, but more importantly,
for you. |

Home Page
The home page (www.OLPHCYO.org) provides you with links to
the most common places. It will also display links to this
Notice Board whenever OLPH CYO wishes to inform you of a change
or an upcoming event etc.
At the top of the page, under the OLPH CYO title, you will
see a 'Navigation Bar' with links to pages such as 'Scholarship'
and 'CYO Contacts' etc. Clicking these links will take you
to those pages where you can browse and further explore. |

By the way, at anytime you click on the green CYO logo
(on the left) it will automatically take you back to the home
page. Try it! - to get back to here just click the back arrow
on your browser window.
(Sometimes a smaller version of the CYO
logo is used as a bullet, like on the first page where it
is positioned next to the sports links - in this case the
logo is part of the link and if you click it it will take
you to the relevant page.)

All of the sports that are offered are found on the home
page. Each sport has its own page. To navigate to the page
simply click on the sport link. If you click on the CYO Sports
tab on the Navigation Bar, which is in between 'Calendar'
and 'Contact CYO', you will be taken to the general information
page for our sports. However you will also find links (like
the ones on the home page) on the CYO Sports page to take
you to the specific sports pages.

The CYO Event Link on the Home Page will take you to a page
that issues details on special events such as the 'Coaches
Appreciation Dinner', 'OLPH Night at the Spurs', 'OLPH Night
at the Missions', and the City Sponsored, 'All City Banquet'.
The Page will contain information regarding dates, times and
locations for those concerned. |

Each time a new message is 'posted' on the notice board it
will be given a new number. For example the first message
posted is 'Post 1' and the next message is 'Post 2' etc. The
links on the top right are the same links on the left but
have the dates that the message was posted next to them and
it also makes it easier to see if any new Posts have been
added since the last time you checked. In each Post there
are headings that when clicked will take you to that paragraph
(just like what happened when you clicked 'How to use the
Notice Board'). So for example, if you wanted to find out
about how to use the Calendar on this website, you could simply
click the 'Calendar' link (in POST 1) and it will take you
to the information. To return to the top click the 'top' link
on the left or scroll up.

Various other links can be found throughout the Home Page
but particularly at the bottom. If you move your mouse over
them a pop-up message will display indicating where the link
will take you. Clicking them will take you to that page. Note,
that some of these links may take you outside of OLPH CYO's
website. If it does it will open another window on top of
the OLPH CYO's window. i.e. it will not close this website.
Therefore if you are taken to an external site and want to
get back, you can close the external site window and we will
still be here. Clicking the 'back' button will not work as
the external site is in a NEW window.

Scholarship
The Scholarship page will be updated as neccessary to provide
information to those interseted in applying for an OLPH CYO
Scholarship. It also gives details on who is eligible and
how to apply. NEW - You can now apply online and the completed
form will be emailed to OLPH CYO for your convenience. |

Radical Reverse Raffle (RRR)
The RRR occurs once per year around April time. The 'RR Raffle'
page provides venue information and how to apply for tickets.
The page will be updated with photographs after this years
venue and will be further updated later in the year providing
information for next years event. A link to this page can
also be found with the Miscellaneous Links on the Home Page.
When this page is updated with new information it is likely
you will find a new link on the Home Page.

Age Division
This page is updated annually and its purpose is to provide
the parents the information they need to determine what sport
age group their child(ren) fall into before they register.

Calendar
The Calendar is probably the main reason for users to visit
this site. The Calendar is 'categorized' into specific sports.
For example, if you have a child enrolled into the Softball
team, you have the choice to view only the calendar
events that are related to Softball. You have the choice to
view all of the Calendars at once if you desire. (Note: there
are not many seperate Calendars as it may sound - there is
only one actual Calendar - it is the information that is displayed
that changes i.e. just 'Softball' or 'All Sports and Events').
It is a good idea to view only the events that are relevant
to you so that you are not overwhelmed with the multitude
of non-pertinent events.
Each coach is responsible for uploading the teams practices/games
and meetings. You also have the option to have these events
emailed to you as the coach uploads them.
The purpose of the Calendar is to disseminate date and time
information regarding games to the parents, date and time
of OLPH CYO Board meetings, and other special activities and
events. It will also serve as an organizer to those who subscribe.
On the calendar page (http://www.olphcyo.org/calendarexpress2.1/month.php)
you will see the calendar in month view and displaying the
current month.
To view the calendar by week, month, year or today place
your mouse over 'View' at the top of the calendar and it will
display the options for you to click on.
Clicking on the 'Calendar List' option at the top of the
calendar takes you to a page that displays all of the calendar
categories and sub categories that are available.
What is a calendar category and sub category? Here is an

If you wish you can view all of the sports events by viewing
'OLPH CYO Sports'. If you are only interested in viewing events
for a particular sport such as 'Softball', then you can simply
select the 'Softball' sub category. All you will see on the
calendar will be events related to Softball, thus making it
easier to view - i.e. less clutter!
Of course you can view 'All Calendars' which will display
every event posted.
Similarly, you can scroll to the bottom of the calendar and
select the categories and/or sub categories from the drop-down
menu. Both this option and the one previously described produce
the same results. If you want to view a category such as 'OLPH
CYO Sports' you would select it from the drop-down menu under
'Select a Category'. This will display all of the sub categories
(i.e. all of the sports calendars) on the calendar. If you
want to view only the events for a particular sub category
you can select it from the 'Select a Calendar' drop-down menu.
Of course, if you have selected a category first under 'Select
a Category' the 'Select a Calendar' drop-down menu will only
display its sub categories. If you want to view all of the
sub categories make sure you have selected 'All Calendars'
from the 'Select a Category' drop-down menu first. This may
sound complicated but in fact it is very simple; the best
idea is to experiment with viewing the calendars.
If you think of an event that you would like posted on the
calendar you can 'suggest' it. If it gets apporved you will
find it posted on the calendar. To suggest an event simply
click on 'Suggest Events' at the top of the calendar and fill
out the details. Some fields (information) is required and
other fields are optional. To suggest an event, all required
fields must be completed.
The Search feature is an excellent tool. It is found at the
bottom right of the calendar. If you want to search for an
event that has the word 'Soccer' in it or search for an event
by the coaches name you can do so by entering your search
criteria into the box, where it reads 'Search for...', and
clicking on the 'Search' button below it. The events will
be displayed that match your search criteria.
If you would like to subscribe to OLPH CYO Calendar, click
on the 'Log In' link at the top of the calendar. On the following
page click on "Register Now' and complete the form. By
registering you can receive emails from OLPH CYO regarding
events.

CYO Sports
The CYO Sports link on the Navigation Bar takes you to the
general information page for our sports. However you will
also find links (like the ones on the home page) on the CYO
Sports page, that will enable you to navigate to the specific
sports pages, such as Soccer, Softball or Basketball for example.
This page will be updated as neccessary to display current
registration dates. |

Contact CYO
All Board Members and Commissioners are listed on the Contact
CYO page. You may contact them via the email link. |

Map / Directions
The addresses of the CYO fields are listed on the Map / Directions
page. Two links, 'Map' and 'Directions' are given for each
address. The 'Map' link shows a local area map and will usually
be sufficient to those who live nearby. The 'Directions' link
takes you to another pop-up page where you are requested to
input your address, upon which you are given driving directions
and a map courtesy of MapQuest. The map and direction pages
will be seperate pages - after you have examined the directions
(or printed them) simply close the window to return to OLH
CYO's website. |
